It’s the prestigious Bolton Active Sports Awards this evening at the Macron Stadium, and Academy Juniors stars – past and present – are once again on the lists of nominees!

There’s already a lot to be happy about and proud of here at AJs right now as we head into the new season, but let’s not forget the joys of last season (and further back) that will lead to our Club name being read out as nominees in three separate awards categories tonight!

We have just three questions to consider before the big event:

Will last season’s Academy Juniors U14s finally be recognised in the ‘Junior Sports Team Achievement of the Year’ category after missing out on the same wonderful accolade last season?

Will last season’s AJs Under 14s Coach, Emma Thompson, be able to follow in last year’s footsteps of our Chair, Jemma Entwistle, and scoop the highly impressive award for ‘Coach of the Year’?

Will the founder of Academy Juniors FC, Steven Watson, even be able to turn up at the event at all to see if he has a shot at being named the ‘Unsung Hero in Sport’ for 10 years service to the Club, seeing as his wife is literally about to give birth to their first child?

We have no idea what the answers and outcomes will be, but all we do know is that Bolton Council are sure to put on a fantastic event as always, and that all nominees, regardless of sport, club or activity, are in for a great evening of celebration.

Well done to all of those in the Bolton community who are nominated for awards, and a massive thank you to all who continue to support them.

Good luck, AJs – past and present.  You are all wonderful.

Good luck, everybody – and enjoy your night!
